The problem
[Replace] An off-the-shelf membership plugin couldn't handle the client's pricing model, failed renewals went unnoticed, and the checkout redirected away from the site.
The solution
[Replace] Built a custom plugin with an on-site Stripe Elements checkout, verified webhook signatures, idempotent event handling, and Action Scheduler jobs for renewal reminders and failed-payment retries.
AI acceleration
[Replace] AI scaffolded the webhook handlers and test fixtures for each Stripe event type; the state machine and idempotency rules were designed by hand.
